TALLY A1110697& ROLLY A1110698
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsWe received this happy update from our friends at Magnificat Cat Rescue & Rehoming:
Something wonderful happened today.
Three weeks ago, Magnificat Cat Rescue pulled Tally, a four-year-old tortie with wondrously green eyes, from the euthanasia list at the ACC. She had been found abandoned with another cat in a Bronx building, and that was pretty much all we knew about her past history.
A few days ago, here and in an email, we started getting urgent messages from somebody namedZuzana. As it turned out, Zuzana had adopted a cat from the ACC: Rolly, a 12-year-old black cat …the other abandoned cat that had been found with Tally. Zuzana said Rolly was sweet and gentle, but seemed a little lonely. She wondered if he and Tally were bonded housemates who had been dumped together. The honest answer was that we didn’t know, but were willing to to bring them together to see if they remembered each other.
So this afternoon, the amazing Kate drove Tally to Zuzana’s apartment. Tally, who hissed at all other cats, touched noses gently with Rolly and then settled down comfortably near him. We will never be 100% sure but it appears that they really were housemates who had missed each other!
Of course we told Zuzana that if it didn’t work out, we would always take Tally back, but look at the picture!
Magnificat Cat Rescue is a 501 c 3 registered nonprofit and deductions are tax deductible. Please consider donating so we can continue to rescue cats like Tally!
