Wesley
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsHAPPY GOTCHA DAY WESLEY! Four years ago today, on my mom’s birthday, my heart ached to see this scrawny emaciated earthly angel on the euthanasia list at the ACC. He was placed on the “to be destroyed list” twice, and following fake pulls and a horrid evaluation which deemed him New Hope due to severe resource guarding, I knew he only had that night to live and had to do something, if only just to foster and get him out of that hellhole! I immediately applied to several rescues at 10pm, knowing he’ll be put down in the morning if not. While one rescue refused to pull saying it’d be extremely hard to place him with his resource guarding, another agreed to take a chance on this sweet boy. It was Linda Vetrano who saw what often others can’t and Posh Pets Rescue put a hold on him. Wesley was 35 lb when I got him (spine protruding in bottom pic), ridden with hookworms and signs of localized mange. But be sure, he was sweet as a button and it didn’t take long for me to utterly fail as a foster wink emoticon Wesley today weighs 48-50lb, super loving and friendly with ALL living beings – dogs, cats, people, kids and even squirrels, yes yes squirrels. I will forever be indebted to Posh Pets for taking a chance on a furbaby Nobody wanted but all rooted for. I’d like to thank Evelyne Cumps for never giving up on him while awaiting his fate in that horrid kill shelter for over a month. And lastly, I’d like to say thank you to my baby boy, Wesley, for bringing an abundance of pure joy and unconditional love into my life and for being an integral part of my life’s voyage. You are truly my everything! heart emoticon Forever and ever!
