"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsHappy “tail” from our friends at Anjellicle Cats Rescue:
My name is P.K. My tale began 12 years ago in March when I was found on the street on the Upper East Side and taken to the ACC. At the time, my mom volunteered at Anjellicle Cats Rescue. She first spotted me in an ACC email seeking foster homes for ‘at risk’ kitties. Since that bulletin did not generate a foster home for me, the ACC sent me to an adoption event. By that time, I felt pretty down and kind of scared so I didn’t connect with anyone at the event. Then I caught a cold and figured that would be the end for me. Fortunately, the ACC included my headshot in an urgent ‘last call’ e-mail.
When my mom saw me in an ACC email for the second time, she knew she needed to quickly act. She called Kathryn, the founder of Anjellicle Cats Rescue, and asked her to go get me. The next day, my mom met me and moved me into my new home which she had furnished with all sorts of cool things for me to enjoy. Even though there were some cozy cat beds for me to hang out in, from the first night with my mom, I knew that at bedtime, I wanted to snuggle with my her on her bed, and that has been our nightly routine ever since.
This March, we celebrate 12 amazing years together. During our 12 years, my mom moved a couple of times for work so I have lived in New York, Massachusetts, and now Maine! Some kitties get a forever home but I got a forever person. Mom frequently tells me that I am full of life and love and that she cannot imagine life without me. I let my mom know by giving her head butts and by snuggling with her that I am very grateful she rescued me. Thanks to Anjellicle Cats Rescue and my mom, my tale turned into a happy tail!
