MR. T fka JACK
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsSix years ago I found my best buddy, Mr. Wolfman Jack Tusky, late in the evening on the Urgent II website. Having always had a penchant for older, misfit dogs, Jack (his rescue name) had not one inquiry and was due to be euthanized the next morning. His sweet eyes and ridiculous underbite compelled me to work through the late hours to arrange a pull which I was able to do through Posh Pets. I had thought that I would foster him for a while and then try to find him a forever home but after several failed attempts at placement, I realized that he was meant for me. Mr. T has taught me more about patience, love, and empathy than most humans could. I am a better person for having rescued him and wish everyone could experience the gifts that unfold from giving a death row dog a chance. I advocate for older dogs because they need us most of all. Mr. T was about seven when we found each other and six years later he is still a happy, healthy and energetic pup. Thank you to the folks at Urgent for the great work you do. Mr. Tusky and I are forever grateful. |
