JAY (FORMERLY KNOWN AS BARNEY)
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsJAY’S AMAZING TALE!!
Jay’s wonderful adopter shared his awesome-pawesome happy “tail” with us:
In 2015, Jay (then known as Barney) came in with 5 other cats from a school yard. Only one other cat besides Jay made it out of the NYC ACC. I often wonder if they were all as loveable as this guy …..and how all 6 cats came to be abandoned together or were they just strays hanging out at the school….
Jay was pulled by a rescue and adopted by another adopter. The person who found him a home knew of my original interest and contacted me at the end of 2015. They told me that Jay was going to be losing his newly found home because of a sick relative moving in. And they asked if I would be interested in taking him…..there was no hesitation.
Jay has been hanging out with the basement cats since December. He has some special friends but he is good with everyone….The early spring weather must have gotten to him today because he came upstairs to hang out…..
Jay is so loveable….he frightens easily which makes giving meds difficult but he loves a good belly rub (unlike most if not all of my other cats). I think of his friends who were lost and how I wish they could be in someone’s home today…..
This is why it is so important to adopt……so many wonderful lives are out there just waiting for someone to save them…….
If you can’t adopt…do something else…..Foster, volunteer, spay & neuter…..don’t just walk away. Lives are depending on YOU……
