FRIJOLES 20563
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsANOTHER HAPPY FRIJOLES UPDATE FROM OUR FRIENDS AT MAGNIFICAT RESCUE AND REHOMING:
She was Frijoles 20563, a little calico cat who was hit by a car in East Harlem. Somebody dropped her off at the New York City ACC, her face swollen and blood coming out of her mouth and nose.
The medical care at the ACC has improved dramatically since a new medical director came, and we want to give full credit to the ACC vets. Frijoles was stabilized, put on fluids, given supportive care, and x-rayed to determine the extent of her injuries (no fractures, thankfully, only shock and bad bruising). Then an urgent plea went out to rescues, because Frijoles would need time and TLC to recover.
We were able to pull Frijoles, thanks to a foster offer from our rescue partner Susan. Frijoles arrived from the ACC with her favorite toy,a yellow plush canary that she refused to let go during the month she was on cage rest.
Frijoles greatly enjoyed the all the attention she got from Susan. She turned out to be an extremely affectionate and happy little cat, once she had healed. As soon as she was well enough, she was spayed and put up for adoption.
We are happy to report that Frijoles got adopted several days ago – to a family that is so excited about their new cat that for the first two days, they kept calling and texting Susan to report on every little thing Frijoles was doing!
Frijoles, the injured little cat from Harlem, has just started a new life where she will be spoiled rotten. As all cats should be!
