DEVALERA (FKA HECTOR)

HAPPY UPDATE FROM ANJELLICLE CATS:

DEV’s mom writes:
My boyfriend and I adopted Devalera (formerly Hector) in June of 2010. I had actually seen him on the ACC website and instantly fell in love with his sweet face, but it was still three weeks before our move to a pet friendly building.

During our first week in our new apartment, I was back on Craigslist in the Pets section looking at cats again! I saw that Anjellicle Cats had posted 25 cats from the ACC who were on the at-risk list for that day, and among those was Hector. A few hours later, I was on the train heading uptown to pick him up.

In the years since we adopted him, Dev has moved to two different NYC apartments with us, traveled to Boston with us every Thanksgiving, and then made the big move to California in 2013, where we have lived ever since. He’s been on trains, planes and automobiles, and he’s a great traveler! Adopting him helped to inspire me to start volunteering with a local cat rescue group here in Oakland.

Devalera is an amazing cat. He is incredibly friendly and social, he jumps right up to meet new people whenever they come over, and he does really well with all of our foster cats, and even gets along with my sister’s dog. My husband is his favorite human, and the two of them can frequently be found napping together on the couch.

I’m a full time artist and illustrator and Devalera spends most of his day lounging around me while I paint, he’s an amazing companion and I will always be grateful to Anjellicle Cats for posting him on Craigslist that day, for facilitating his rescue and saving his life!
