CLYDE 13000
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsAnother happy “tail” from our friends at Magnificat:
He was Clyde #13000 at the New York City ACC, a friendly, one-year-old little cat that came in with his brother. When his brother was adopted and Clyde was left behind at the ACC, he was bereft, for they were a bonded pair.
We pulled Clyde as our Thanksgiving cat. He was the sweetest little cat, but we could tell he was missing his brother. He would go up to every male cat he met, anxiously nuzzling and then stepping back with a meow. “Are you my brother?” he seemed to be asking. “Will you be my brother?”
Magnificat had been looking for the perfect home for our Clyde, one that had to include a young and friendly male cat. Thanks to our rescue partner Susan, we finally found it. Last week the Mayor’s Alliance transported Clyde to a home with a young cat named Ozzy.
Two days later, we got the update we had been waiting for. Ozzy and Clyde had taken to each other and in just 48 hours had become inseparable, wrestling together, playing mad games of tag together, eating together, and then falling asleep cuddled together.
Clyde has found his brother’s replacement. And he has a new name: Izzy, because it goes so well with Ozzy.
This weekend we got this update from his adopter:
“Clyde (now known as Izzy) is doing awesome, and is such a little sweetie. He and our Ozzy boy are inseparable already, so we’re beyond thrilled! Here’s a pic of Izzy, and one of him and Ozzy nuzzling each other. I’m happy to say that Izzy has found his forever home!”
