Charlie
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter Animals
This is the photo of Charlie when he got to the shelter, and the photo on his adoption profile. The second I saw that terrified look I knew we had to save him and make sure he never looks this scared ever again.
The shelter filled us in on his story when we arrived, he was found in an abandoned house with seven other pups, all tied up. Charlie had cuts on his neck from trying to escape. He’s never known love or consistency yet he is the most affectionate, kind, and loving dog. He ran right to us and clung to us like he’d known us forever. I can’t imagine a more perfect pup for us, he is mild mannered, goofy, and a quick learner so far. I am so glad we found him in time, and there are plenty more. Our adoption fee was $65, they gave him all his shots, flea and tick prevention, a full behavioral and medical assessment, and even a bag of food for the road. I can’t see why anyone would want to go to a breeder when you could spend way less money and save the life of a dog like Charlie. Trust me it’s a great feeling. The second photo is a collage of Sir Charles adjusting to his new life, settling in just fine smile emoticon Seriously, go get yourself a rescue. You won’t regret it #rescue #adoptdontshop #rescuedog
