We were THRILLED to get this happy update from Magnificat Rescue (who pulled sweet injured creamsicle, Chad a few days ago):
Our boy Chad is proving very popular with the staff at Animal Clinic of Tower Drive! He is the most gentle, loving cat. Here he is with Maria, who seems to be a big fan of his.
We’ve already been in touch this morning with Dr. Jessica Palmeri. Chad will not be getting neutered today, because his blood chemistry test came back showing that two enzymes related to muscle damage are quite high. There seems to be some residual tenderness, too which is not surprising, considering that he must be recovering from massive bruising.
So the plan is to send him to his foster home today on gabapentin and to keep monitoring him for a few weeks. He will get plenty of TLC at Peggy’s (his foster mom), that’s for sure. (If you’d like to donate towards Chad’s care, please go here: http://magnificatrescue.org/donate/)
