We received this happy update in our PODR message box:
We worked with a rescue (Anjellicle Cats) to pull Bud off the list almost 3 years ago. All we knew about him was that he had been owned by an older gentleman who had to go into a facility and the family brought him to the shelter. We had never fostered before, but there was something about him. His notes said he was vicious to the staff and my children and I thought that odd as “old people don’t have mean cats” as my son stated. We intended on fostering him.
He was with us for weeks before he would let us near him. He just kept hiding under the dresser and growling. Poor thing was so frightened. Every day it was the same thing, I would go into his room put food down clean his litter and then just sit and quietly talk for about 5 min. After almost 2.5 months he crept out and threw himself on my lap purring so much he was drooling! 2 years into his foster no one had even looked at him. He is an older cat and rather shy. He loved our large dog and the decision was made that he would be permanently part of our family.
The date I signed the papers with the rescue to make him officially ours he crawled onto my lap and fell asleep – it was the 1st time he had EVER sat on anyone’s lap. It was like he just knew he was truly HOME. Since that day I cannot sit anywhere in the house for more than 2 min without him coming out of no where to lay on my lap. He sleeps with me curled up around my arm and just purrs.
We can’t image life without our beautiful tux boy and we have not only the rescue to thank for the work they do, but you at Urgent for all YOU do or our boy would have never made it out of that shelter. Thank you so much!
LisaBeth, Tabitha, Liam, and Bud
