BLUE A1109581
"New Beginnings" - Stories About Saved NYC Shelter AnimalsHere’s another happy update from our friends at Magnificat Cat Rescue. Blue is a ten month old kitten who was surrendered due to “child conflict.” She was on the at-risk list and two weeks later, she has a new name, BIKATU COMPTON, a new home, and a wonderful new life.
Elizabeth, Bikatu’s adopter, shared this update, “Bikatu is doing great! She is very playful and is already quite attached to me. She follows me all around my apartment :). She loves toys and catnip. Catnip makes her very hyper and she really goes to town on her toys when she is “high”. My impression from her notes is that she has been on a diet of Meow Mix and Friskies all her life, so I have been working to slowly introduce her to more nutritious food and try to get her on a wet food diet. She loves salmon, so getting her to eat wet food isn’t too hard as long as salmon is an ingredient. She is still a little scared of outdoor noises, but she is slowly feeling less and less frightened by them. She allowed me to trim her nails, though she wasn’t delighted by it. She likes to drink from the sink, so I bought her a pet fountain that I will be setting up for her tonight – I will let you know how she likes it. She is still sleeping in bed with me, on or beside my legs, though she tends to go to bed later than I do because she is still busy playing! I am so happy with her and so thankful to you and Magnificat Rescue for helping bring her into my life. Thank you so much! ” You know, it’s updates like these that make up for the not-so-fun part of rescue. Thank YOU, Elizabeth and Bikatu, for brightening our day!
